Families, we look forward to welcoming you to Clio High School for Parent-Teacher Conferences!
This is a great opportunity to connect with your child's teachers, discuss academic progress, celebrate successes, and work together to support their continued growth.
📅 Conference Dates & Times:
Tuesday, October 27
⏰ 3:30–5:30 PM
Thursday, October 29
⏰ 12:00–3:00 PM
⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM
📚 PSAT/SAT Scores: Students will receive their PSAT/SAT scores during advisory on Monday, November 2, and will bring them home for families to review. We encourage families to use Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 27 and 29 as an opportunity to discuss their child's academic progress and ask any questions they may have.
👕 Support Our Mustang Closet: Families are welcome to bring clothing donations when attending conferences! Your generosity helps us provide essential clothing items to students in need throughout our district.
Strong schools are built on strong partnerships between families and educators. We appreciate your involvement and look forward to seeing you next week!

Student Work Permits: New Process Begins October 2
Clio students and families, Michigan is changing how students under age 18 obtain work permits.
Beginning Friday, October 2, 2026, new work permits will be issued through the state’s Youth Employment Permit Portal (YEPP). Schools will no longer issue work permits.
How to get started:
- Visit the state’s YEPP webpage for instructions.
- Create a MiLogin account or sign in to your existing account to access YEPP.
- Complete the online permit process. Employers must also register through YEPP.
Already have a work permit? Valid permits issued by Michigan schools before the transition will continue to be honored. A new YEPP permit is required if a student changes employers or begins working at a different worksite.

🧡 Mr. McMullen Wins $75,000 to Help Build Our Students’ Futures! 🖤
Today, Clio High School industrial technology teacher Matthew McMullen was named a winner of the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence, bringing $75,000 to our school’s skilled trades program!
Mr. McMullen is one of just 25 public high school skilled trades teachers nationwide recognized through this year’s $2 million in awards. This incredible honor celebrates his dedication and creates exciting opportunities for our students, our district, and our community.
But the best part of today’s surprise assembly? The students’ reaction. Their excitement filled the room, and they kept coming up to congratulate him and tell him how awesome this moment was. Their pride in their teacher made an already extraordinary celebration even more meaningful.
Since joining Clio Area Schools in 2008, Mr. McMullen has helped students build skills, discover their strengths, and see possibilities for their futures. Today, our community had the opportunity to celebrate him.
